Cryogenic Lipolysis
What is Cryolipolosis?
Stubborn can fat now be removed by a procedure known as Cryogenic Lipolysis. This simple process involves a method which uses cold temperatures to dissolve localized fat lumps on the body. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive technique that involves no recovery period. We were the first to introduce it to the UK in 2011 and we have acquired tremendous experience in the procedure after performing no less than 6000 treatments since then.
How does it work?
This is done by applying cooling plates on the target area. The treatment period may last up to 45 minutes depending on the individual's response to the technique and the thickness of the fat layer. The procedure does not destroy the cells in the skin but only the fat cells underneath it. The fat cells undergo what is known as apoptosis or controlled death and are removed through the lymphatic system.
What will the result be?
A single treatment does not remove the entire lump of fat in the targeted body area. The effectiveness of the treatment varies between 24% and 25% and depends on the type of individuals and their life styles after the treatment, and also the thickness of the fat layer. To get the maximum benefit of the procedure, just follow the advice on aftercare.
What are the side effects?
Cryogenic Lipolysis is not a surgical procedure and therefore, does no damage to the skin or body and leaves no scars. Compared to liposuction, the surgical way of fat removal. It is invasive, damages the skin and body and leaves scars. Comparatively, the side effects of Cryogenic Lipolysis are very minimal and you can resume normal activities right away.
When will I see results?
How soon the results become apparent will depend on the type of individual, how thick the fat layer is and which part of the body that was treated. However, the usual time period it takes to show the results is between 8 to 12 weeks. These cells do not grow back. Hence, the results of the treatment are permanent.
What are the aftercare advices?
Engage in regular exercises, at least three to four times a week. Drink at least two litres of water per day for a minimum of two months.
